Counseling or Psychotherapy Process
It is the process that begins after the preliminary diagnosis of the psychological problem.
If this problem is not yet at the stage of a clinical disease or disorder, a Psychological Counseling service will be provided. However, if there is a (clinical) disease or disorder that needs to be treated, they will be directed to the hospital where no psychotherapy service will be provided. Both processes are very important. A psychological counseling service before some problems turn into a serious illness or become chronic or an appropriate psychotherapy service in the presence of a disease or disorder has a very important role in improving and protecting our mental health.
Depending on the type and severity of the problem experienced, the duration of the consultation may be different. While a few sessions may be sufficient to solve one problem, more time may be required for another.
The frequency of the sessions will also be in the form of one session per week on average.
Afterwards, the duration of the session interval can be increased according to the level of targeted development and change.
Depending on the duration of the sessions, an average session takes 45-50 minutes. This period is the average duration that has been found suitable for individual psychological counseling sessions with adults in terms of usefulness and adequacy as a result of scientific studies.
